This book was absolutely amazing, I cried many times while reading,Dominic's past shattered me but Molly OMG what she lived with for 20 some
years was just as heart breaking, Dominic has just moved to Vegas and is going
to be part of the new expansion team the Sidewinders. This is going to be his last
chance to stay in the NHL he has stipulations he has to follow (due to an incident on the ice)
anger management and therapy with a physiologist. His first day in Vegas he has
met up with his best friend Cody. (I did love how we got to know so many of the player
and others in this series starter) When Cody and Dominic hear a woman yelling they
go to investigate and what they see is horrible, A man beating on a woman, Dominic steps
in and even though Cody feels he shouldnt Dominic just knows that he needs to help this woman.
He couldnt help Brian and that survivors guilt is what has followed Dominic for years now.

Las Vegas Sidewinders Dominic edition by Kat Mizera Romance eBooks Reviews
I will admit this book would not normally be on my read list being a romance set in sports related background, but I read it on a recommendation, and have to admit I really enjoyed it. The author gave the characters a great deal of depth, without going too far to get bogged down and kept the story line moving while webbing the lives of the characters together and how they inter-relate and help one another. The "erotica" portions to me were not over the top, but I am not easily offended, and the author described the encounters in an adult manner, without gratuitously going too far. The characters lives are flawed, and messy, which is true in real life and the storyline does not go to wild unimaginable scenarios and places. She kept the story real and relate-able, which made reading the story a pleasure for me.
For this girl who loves ice hockey the discovery of Kat Mizera's series was exciting. It is important though to remember that hockey is not the leading theme in this series - Love is. Hockey is the the scene, the background for a love story.
I fully enjoyed reading about Dominic and Molly and I completely agree with other reviwers about how good this book is. But I would like to mention a few important things that I believe the author touches upon with this book.
Well, it's mostly one theme violence. There's Dominic who is known for being an enforcer on the ice...and he's on probation for being a bit too enforcing. Then there's Molly being beaten by her husband. I believe the author makes a beautiful show of telling us the difference between the two. One happens in a setting, where people participating are dressed to take some smashing into boards...the other is a someone being hit by a person they should be able to trust and by someone who supposedly loves them.
And for me this raised some questions I haven't got clear answer to when is a certain amount of violence okay?
I haven't read too many hockey romance novels so I was intrigued not only by that aspect but also with the heroine. She didn't have the best home life but the hero shows up and is a knight in shining armor for her.
Molly made me sad. All the crap she has to endure broke my heart but she was so strong even during her weakest moments. I really enjoyed that she was an older heroine. She was about 11 years older then the hero but it really worked.
Dom was great. Yes, he has his issues, but during the book, he works through them and becomes an amazing man that you can't help but love. When I learned his past, I cried. It was heart wrenching but at the same time it was liberating for him. He slowly puts him self back together and becomes an amazing man.
While this book is about hockey it is about so much more then that. There are some things that are tough to handle, like the domestic violence and some other things, but I loved the couple and even with their age difference they were so amazing together.
I don't know a lot about hockey but I feel that the author really did her research in the topic. I was able to understand it and even become interested in the sport.
There was a lot of witty banter between all the characters l. I really enjoyed getting to learn about Cody and I enjoyed getting to see his little story play out in this one too. I really wish there was a full length book about that couple but we still are able to understand a lot from this book.
Overall, I really liked this story. There were emotional scenes and steamy scenes and I loved the closeness of the team. The pace seemed a little fast when I felt some things could've been drawn out more but it was still enjoyable and I look forward to reading more from this series. 4 stars #2OCCJD
